Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun proposed, "Let's make the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival a representative festival of Korea and a world-class festival led by citizens."
Mayor Lee Jae-jun attended the launch ceremony of the 4th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival Promotion Committee on the 26th and expressed his expectations, saying, "Please actively come up with ideas and create programs that citizens can enjoy together," and "If citizens take the lead in creating the festival, the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival can develop into a world-class festival."

The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival Promotion Committee consists of 98 members. The term lasts until December 31, 2025. The Promotion Committee plays a role in leading the entire process of the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival by collecting citizens' opinions necessary for the festival's progress and fostering an atmosphere of citizen participation.
Meanwhile, the 61st Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival will be held from October 4 to 6 at Hwaseong Haenggung, Haenggung Square, and other areas around Suwon Hwaseong. The event mainly commemorates King Jeongjo's filial piety and promotes Suwon's history and culture. Last year, the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival was selected as one of the top three festivals in the '2024-2025 Cultural Tourism Festivals' designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. In March, it was also selected for the '2024-2026 Global Festival Contest' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
