Action film "The Outlaws 4," starring actor Ma Dong-seok, surpassed 3 million cumulative viewers on the fourth day of its release, the 27th.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system and ABO Entertainment, "The Outlaws 4," which was released on the 24th, recorded a cumulative audience of 3,004,572 as of 6 p.m. on the same day.
Following the milestone of 2 million cumulative viewers reached earlier that morning, the film exceeded 3 million viewers in just one day.
On its opening day, the 24th, the film attracted over 820,000 viewers, and on the following day, it surpassed 1 million cumulative viewers. Since then, it has achieved 3 million viewers at the fastest pace among all films released this year. This speed is similar to that of the previous installment, "The Outlaws 3," which was a 10 million viewer film last year.
If the current trend continues, there is growing anticipation within and outside the film industry that the cumulative audience could reach 4 million by this weekend.
This installment depicts the story of detective Ma Seok-do taking on Baek Chang-gi, a special forces mercenary leading a large-scale online illegal gambling organization, and Jang Dong-cheol, a genius CEO of an IT company. Ma Dong-seok reprises his role as Ma Seok-do, Kim Moo-yeol plays Baek Chang-gi, and Lee Dong-hwi portrays Jang Dong-cheol.
Meanwhile, the "The Outlaws" series recorded cumulative audiences of 6.88 million for the first film, 12.69 million for the second, and 10.68 million for the third installment.
