On the same day, Lee posted on Facebook, "I will cast my vote at the party convention looking at all candidates with only one expectation, without any prejudice for or against any particular candidate."
He said, "I am grateful to all five candidates who ran for the convention," and urged, "Party members should carefully examine the speeches, debates, and vision presentations to make a valuable judgment."
The Reform New Party will elect the party leader and supreme council members on the 19th of next month. The party convention of the Reform New Party will be conducted under a collective leadership system rather than a single leadership system, where the candidate with the highest votes becomes the party leader, and those ranked second and below become supreme council members.
So far, former supreme council member Lee Ki-in, chief spokesperson Heo Eun-ah, Hwaseong City councilor Jeon Seong-gyun, former deputy chairman of the Policy Committee Cheon Gang-jeong, and former Daegu City Party Committee chairman Jo Dae-won have registered as candidates for party leader.
