Public-Private Partnership 'Digital Insight Forum' Launched: "A Hub for Strengthening Competitiveness"

Mutual Cooperation Network for Digital Industry Development
Roles in Networking, Research, and Policy Proposals
"Will Contribute to Establishing Leadership as a Digital Power"

The 'Digital Insight Forum,' a public-private cooperation platform for the development of the digital industry, has been launched.


The Korea Association for ICT Promotion (KAIT) held the launch ceremony of the Digital Insight Forum on the 26th at the InterContinental Seoul COEX, attended by over 60 participants including major companies, experts, and government officials.

The forum launched that day included participation from large corporations, mid-sized and small enterprises, venture companies, and experts across various fields such as digital devices, networks and services, platforms, AI and data, cloud, and cybersecurity.


Heads of related organizations such as Hong Jin-bae, President of the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation, and Lee Sang-hoon, President of the Korea Communications Agency, as well as officials from key ministries including the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Communications Commission, the Personal Information Protection Commission, and the Digital Platform Government Committee, attended to celebrate the forum's launch.


The forum plans to explore mutual cooperation methods through continuous networking among key industry figures and to carry out concrete activities such as joint research and surveys, policy proposals and recommendations, and the discovery and promotion of new businesses.


The forum will be co-chaired by Choi Jae-yoo, former 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and former Presidential Senior Secretary for Future Strategy, and Hyun Dae-won, Dean of the Metaverse Graduate School at Sogang University. Former Minister of Information and Communication, Noh Jun-hyung, was appointed as honorary chairman. Leading companies representing each sector of the domestic digital industry will serve as forum operating committee members to guide the forum.

Public-Private Partnership 'Digital Insight Forum' Launched: "A Hub for Strengthening Competitiveness" Kang Dohyun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said in a congratulatory speech at the launch ceremony of the Digital Insight Forum on the 26th, "We will attentively listen to various opinions and suggestions from the private sector and faithfully reflect them in policies to support corporate innovation and growth."

Noh Jun-hyung, former minister and honorary chairman of the forum, said in his welcoming remarks, "In a digital world without borders, the outcome of competition with global big tech companies depends on how accurately we understand the required changes and drivers and how efficiently we respond."


He continued, "Now, survival is not possible by doing well alone, so we must consider changes in the economic system, society, education system, and everything else. For this, the spirit of a 'public-private one team' where companies and government cooperate and communicate is necessary," he emphasized.


Co-chair Choi Jae-yoo expressed his aspiration, saying, "The forum will serve as a focal point for win-win cooperation as the 'K-Digital Alliance,' strengthening the competitiveness of companies, industries, and ultimately the Republic of Korea."


Kang Do-hyun, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said in his congratulatory speech, "Digital companies representing each sector will cooperate to open the era of K-Digital's global leadership by pooling their strength and wisdom. The government will also listen carefully to various opinions and suggestions from the private sector and faithfully reflect them in policies to support corporate innovation and growth."


Lee Chang-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of KAIT, which will serve as the forum secretariat, stated, "In an era where AI is utilized in everyday life and all areas of the economy and society, we will respond swiftly to new technologies and market trends and contribute to establishing Korea's leadership as a digital powerhouse through continuous communication and cooperation."
