Presto's Jeong Seok-moon Delivers Keynote Speech at Southeast Asia's First Blockchain Event

Singapore-based algorithm trading company Presto announced on the 26th that Jung Seok-moon, Head of the Research Center, delivered a keynote speech at the 'Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2024 (SEABW2024)', the first blockchain event in Southeast Asia.

On the first day of the main event, the 24th (local time), Jung Seok-moon gave a keynote speech in Bangkok, Thailand, at SEABW under the theme "Market Fit of Blockchain in Southeast Asia." The core message was that the utility and market fit of blockchain are determined by the values pursued by society.

Jung said, "ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) is the only preferential trade zone in Asia and has understood and practiced the value of cross-border exchanges with neighboring countries more than any other Asian region," adding, "Blockchain solutions that form cross-border communities centered on Southeast Asian users can be said to have higher product-market fit (PMF) than any other region in Asia."

The event was held over two days until the 25th (local time) in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by ShardLab, a subsidiary of blockchain venture capital (VC) Hashed, and SCBX, Thailand's largest fintech group. It was organized to promote the development of the blockchain and Web3 industries in Southeast Asia. Key industry figures participated in keynote speeches, panel discussions, networking, product demonstrations, and booth exhibitions.

On the last day of the main event, the 25th, a panel discussion on the theme "Strategies for Attracting Web3 to Traditional Financial Institutions" was held, chaired by Elena Kang, Presto’s Director of Business Strategy. Panelists included Willy Chuang, COO of Woo, Chittinan Chatsiharat, CEO of TokenX, Takatoshi Shibayama, APAC Sales Head at Copper, and Pamela Lee, APAC Sales Head at Talos.

Meanwhile, at this year’s SEABW, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, also delivered a keynote speech via video. Kim Seo-jun, CEO of Hashed; Arak Sutibong, Vice President of SCBX; Alex Svanevik, CEO of Nansen; and Avery Ching, co-founder and CTO of Aptos, gave speeches on-site.
