"What's the point of talks if political strife appears?"
Regarding the 'Corporal Chae Special Prosecutor Act', "Public evaluation comes first"
Yoon Jae-ok, the floor leader of the People Power Party and acting party leader, expressed his welcome for Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who stated his position to accept a summit meeting without agenda coordination. Furthermore, he argued that the 'Special Prosecutor Law for Corporal Chae,' which the Democratic Party pursued along with the conclusion of the 21st National Assembly, should proceed only after the public evaluation that the investigation was insufficient.

After concluding the floor strategy meeting at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, on the morning of the 26th, Acting Leader Yoon told reporters, "(The summit meeting) should be a great and generous meeting where candid discussions about the overall state affairs take place, and where the ruling and opposition parties engage in dialogue and make some concessions to find answers, so that the public can have expectations." On the same morning, Leader Lee stated, "Rather than spending time like this, I will put everything aside and meet President Yoon Seok-yeol first," adding, "I will convey the public sentiment revealed in the general election without any distortion."
He also pointed out that the summit meeting should serve as an opportunity for cooperation. Acting Leader Yoon said, "From the public's perspective, the ruling and opposition parties should meet to create an opportunity for cooperative governance through dialogue and compromise," adding, "If they end up showing scenes of political strife over agendas like the Special Prosecutor Law for Corporal Chae, what meaning would such a meeting have?"
Acting Leader Yoon maintained the position that public evaluation should come first regarding the Special Prosecutor Law for Corporal Chae. He said, "A special prosecutor is appointed only after the investigation by investigative agencies is completed and there is a public evaluation that the investigation was insufficient, inadequate, or unfair," adding, "The Democratic Party holds more seats in the 22nd National Assembly, so they can pursue it again, can't they?" He continued, "There are many problematic provisions in the current law, and the Democratic Party has not shown any intention to proactively amend the legal provisions," emphasizing, "It is desirable to decide whether to proceed with the Special Prosecutor Law after the preconditions are met."
