Busan Haeundae Office of Education Supports Meal Management for Small Private Kindergartens

Ensuring Safety of Food for Young Children, School-Level Meal Management

Busan Haeundae Office of Education (Superintendent Won Mi-kyung) announced on the 26th that it will provide support for meal management at small-scale private kindergartens.

Since 2022, the Haeundae Office of Education has been assigning itinerant nutrition teachers to support meal services at private kindergartens with fewer than 100 children. This is to ensure food safety and meal quality for young children and to operate kindergarten meal services at a school level.

This year as well, the itinerant nutrition teachers visit the respective kindergartens monthly to support overall tasks including ▲providing monthly menus and standard recipes suitable for growth stages ▲developing teaching materials for young children ▲nutrition and dietary education ▲meal operation consulting for principals, cooks, and teachers ▲nutrition counseling for parents.

Won Mi-kyung, Superintendent of the Haeundae Office of Education, said, “The Haeundae Office of Education will operate support for meal management at small-scale private kindergartens thoroughly to help the healthy growth of young children.”

The Haeundae Office of Education is making multifaceted efforts for children’s dietary education, including receiving the institution’s highest award at the ‘2023 Early Childhood Nutrition and Dietary Education Materials Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of Education last year.
