Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will support exam fees and tuition fees for language and qualification tests for unemployed youth.
The city plans to expand the scope of support compared to last year, covering exam fees and tuition fees for 19 types of language tests including TOEIC, 545 types of national technical qualifications such as Korean history, 96 types of nationally certified private qualifications, and 248 types of national professional qualifications.
The support targets unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Gyeonggi Province and must reside in Bucheon City on the day of application. Additionally, applicants must maintain unemployed status as of the exam date and course date; however, youth employed under short-term contracts of less than one year are eligible to apply.
The maximum annual support per youth is 300,000 KRW, with no limits on the number of times or the amount per support.
Applications for exam fee support will be accepted starting from the 2nd of next month, and from July 1st, applications for both exam fees and academy tuition fees will be available. Applications can be submitted until November 30th through the Gyeonggi Province job platform 'Jobaba' website after signing up as a member, via PC or mobile.
A Bucheon City official stated, "We hope this will help young people who are struggling with rising living costs to develop themselves and strengthen their capabilities in preparing for employment," adding, "We will continue to implement various youth-tailored policies reflecting the needs of young people."
