Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Kim Tae-gyun Receives 'Excellence Award' at Governance Local Politics Awards

Kim Tae-gyun, Vice Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council (Gwangyang·The Democratic Party of Korea), announced on the 25th that he received the Excellence Award in the Socioeconomic Vitality Promotion category at the ‘2024 Governance Local Politics Awards’ ceremony held at the National Assembly Library.

The Governance Local Politics Awards are hosted by the Governance Center and supported by the Presidential Committee on Local Autonomy Era, the Korea Association of Mayors, Governors and District Heads, and the Korean Local Autonomy Association. The awards are given to local government heads and local council members nationwide who have demonstrated outstanding achievements through proper local governance.

Vice Chairman Kim Tae-gyun is a three-term provincial council member who served as the chairman of the Economic, Tourism and Culture Committee, a standing committee related to the economy in the Jeonnam Provincial Council. He received the award in recognition of his efforts to establish systems for regional revitalization, including enacting and revising ordinances to promote local economic activation and the development of regional industries.

In particular, he actively responded to major issues in Jeonnam by forming special committees such as the ‘COVID-19 Overcoming Regional Economic Revitalization Special Committee’ and the ‘Livelihood Economy Recovery Special Committee,’ and his vigorous legislative activities to promote economic vitality in the local community were highly evaluated.

Vice Chairman Kim Tae-gyun expressed his thoughts, saying, “I will strive to establish more effective policies and systems to promote the vitality of the local community in the future.”
