Sungkonghoe University will hold a ceremony to commemorate its 110th anniversary.
Sungkonghoe University will hold the ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 30th at Pittsburgh Hall on campus.
During the first part of the ceremony, President Kim Kyung-moon will announce the 4th mid- to long-term development plan outlining the university's future plans for the next 10 years and present a new vision for Sungkonghoe University. Approximately 250 people, including 120 domestic and international figures as well as university members, are expected to attend.
Congratulatory speeches will be given by Kang Sung-young, president of Hanshin University, Moon Heon-il, mayor of Guro-gu, and Nishihara Renta, president of Rikkyo University in Japan, among others. The Sungkonghoe University choir will perform a congratulatory concert. Following this, an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration will be awarded to Toru Kishida, CEO of Netlearning Holdings.
President Kim said, “Since its founding in 1914, through 110 years of history and many trials, we have steadfastly upheld the educational ideals of openness, sharing, and service, continuously advancing. We will lead the future society with new education suited to the rapidly changing era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
