Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Nam-il) signed a mutual exchange and cooperation agreement with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters to promote public interest in the local community and the development of both organizations.
On the 24th, the signing ceremony was held in the main conference room of Gyeongju Expo Park, attended by more than 20 people including executives and employees of Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation, Wolsong Nuclear Power Headquarters Director Kim Han-seong, and Director of External Cooperation Jang Jeong-il.

Through the agreement, both organizations agreed to cooperate on measures to promote the development of both institutions and the public interest of the local community, including cooperation in online and offline promotion such as Wolsong Headquarters’ internal bulletin boards and electronic displays for Gyeongju Expo events and activities, promotional cooperation and support such as internal electronic displays and banners for Wolsong Headquarters’ events and projects, discounts on admission fees and performance viewing fees at Gyeongju Expo Park for Wolsong Headquarters employees and their families, cooperation in youth cultural and artistic activities and cultural tourism projects, and other promotional activities and mutual development efforts.
President Kim Nam-il said, “Culture, tourism, and nuclear power share the common context of being driving forces that revitalize the economy and enrich our lives. I hope that by sharing our expertise and experience and cooperating, we can achieve various outcomes for the promotion of public interest and cultural arts in the local community.”
Director Kim Han-seong said, “I am pleased to sign this agreement with the corporation that has been responsible for Korea’s 50 years of culture and tourism. Through this agreement, the two leading organizations representing Korea will strive to contribute to the development of the local community and public interest through mutual cooperation.”
After the signing ceremony, Wolsong Headquarters officials toured major contents of Gyeongju Expo Park such as Gyeongju Tower and Solgeo Art Museum under the guidance of President Kim Nam-il, discussing directions for future mutual cooperation.
Located in Yangnam-myeon, Gyeongju City, Wolsong Nuclear Power is the only power headquarters in Korea that operates both heavy water reactor and light water reactor types, producing about 51% of the electricity consumed in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, contributing to national and regional development. It is also recognized as a trusted global clean energy company based on advanced technology, strict safety procedures for stable power supply, and eco-friendly energy provision.
