Used Clothes Collection Startup 'Recle' Secures Series A Funding from Smagainve and Others

'Recle' announced on the 25th that it has secured Series A investment. Recle is a startup operating a mobile used clothing collection service and online and offline vintage stores. Smilegate Investment, Sema Investment, Gentium Partners, and existing investor Big Basin Capital participated.

Recle previously received investments in 2022 from domestic and international accelerators (AC) and venture capitalists (VC) such as The Ventures, Newborn Ventures, Big Basin Capital, and MYSC. It also secured a Pre-A bridge investment last October. This means it completed new funding in about six months.

With this investment, Recle plans to establish a system for efficient logistics processing, hire developers to improve service quality, open a hub logistics center, and expand offline stores, laying the foundation to provide higher-level services.

Recle operates in the used clothing market with a ‘contactless on-demand’ model. Consumers simply leave unwanted clothes outside their door for pickup, and Recle collects them. They receive high-level compensation through professional inspection and resale of the sent clothes. Collection services are provided in 15 cities and provinces nationwide, focusing on the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon metropolitan areas, as well as Busan, Gangwon, and Daejeon. The accumulated number of users exceeds approximately 4 million, and over 800 million pieces of clothing were collected in 2023 alone.
