Hwang Unha was elected as the new floor leader of the 22nd National Assembly for the Joguk Innovation Party.
On the morning of the 25th, the Joguk Innovation Party held a meeting of elected members at its Yeouido headquarters in Seoul to elect the floor leader who will lead the 22nd National Assembly floor leadership. The party announced that Hwang, a re-elected member, was unanimously elected as floor leader just 10 minutes after the meeting began. Hwang previously served as the deputy floor leader for the Democratic Party during the 21st National Assembly. He was elected as number 8 on the proportional representation list for the Joguk Innovation Party in the 22nd general election.
All 12 elected members of the Joguk Innovation Party attended the meeting, and the floor leader election adopted a 'conclave' format. The conclave is a method where all voters gather without a separate nomination process and continue voting until one person is elected.
Hwang Unha, the newly elected floor leader, is scheduled to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on the 25th at the National Assembly Communication Office to share his thoughts on the election.
