The ‘2024 Maeil Business Newspaper National Representative Brand Awards’ are sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and hosted by the Maeil Business Newspaper Media Group.
Out of approximately 760 brands from public institutions, local governments, and companies, 30 representative brands are selected through preliminary research, consumer surveys (by region, age, and occupation), and expert review, with support provided to strengthen each brand’s global competitiveness.
Busan’s ‘Cheongnyeonji(G)dae’ is the representative brand of Busan’s youth policies, designed to comprehensively encompass various youth policies and approach young people in a friendly manner.
Good Job! signifies the creation of quality jobs through corporate attraction.
Good Life! supports housing assistance and asset formation.
Good Play! aims to establish an attractive cultural foundation and inject creative vitality.
Good Voice! listens to the voices of youth and expands youth participation. These four areas form the detailed branding of the initiative.
In particular, the city recently analyzed that youth policy conditions are at a turning point, as Busan ranked first in raising the youth age range and life satisfaction surveys. To enable young people to stay in Busan and realize their dreams, the city announced the ‘2nd Basic Youth Policy Plan (2024?2028)’ based on the keywords ‘Opportunity, Stability, Vitality.’
The most notable feature of this youth policy is that it promotes policies not only for youth actually residing in Busan but also for increasing the number of living youth staying in Busan.
The policy was planned from a new perspective focusing on population expansion by utilizing Busan’s potential in nature, culture, and history, with the slogan ‘A young and hopeful vibrant city.’ A total budget of 1.9092 trillion KRW will be invested in 59 projects across the fields of jobs and startups, housing, education, culture and welfare, vitality, participation, and growth.
The city will continue to provide opportunities for youth to challenge themselves anytime through excellent university education, successful startups, corporate attraction, and future technology capacity building, playing a key role in the ‘Leap to a Global Hub City.’ It will also support stable daily life for youth through psychological and emotional counseling, asset formation support, youth-tailored housing supply, and reduction of rent and lease burdens. Furthermore, by expanding volunteer and community activity programs, the city plans to provide detailed support to invigorate youth vitality.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “I am very pleased that the Busan Youth Platform ‘Cheongnyeonji(G)dae’ was selected as a national representative brand.” He added, “With this selection, we will make greater efforts to build a solid ‘Cheongnyeonji(G)dae’ so that young people, the future leaders, can happily stay in Busan and realize their dreams.”
