Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) carried out river cleanup activities along Anyangcheon Stream together with the Carbon Neutral Citizen Action Group.
To create a clear and blue ecological stream, the district conducts annual cleanup activities with local residents to remove floating debris and trash from the river.
This year’s cleanup was divided into two sections based on Gocheokgyo Bridge: the Ecological Flower Garden and Baemsoidari Bridge areas. Within approximately 1.5 km in each section, trash was collected from the riverbanks, walking paths, and community facilities, and bridges and the river basin were maintained.
About 100 members of the Carbon Neutral Citizen Action Group participated in the event, including citizens’ groups who love Anyangcheon and Dorimcheon Streams, the Environmental Love Group, the Housewives’ Environmental Guro-gu Federation, Climate Change Response Leaders, and ecological interpreters.
Moon Heon-il, Mayor of Guro-gu, said, “I am grateful to the Carbon Neutral Citizen Action Group for participating in improving the water quality of Anyangcheon. Guro-gu will do its best to ensure that Anyangcheon, which has become the best resting place for residents, is reborn as a greener, eco-friendly stream.”
