Tomorrow Yoon-Lee Second Preparatory Meeting for Summit... Time and Location Confidential

The Presidential Office and the Democratic Party leader's office plan to hold a second preparatory meeting for the summit between President Yoon Seok-yeol and Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung.

A Democratic Party official stated in a press release on the 24th, "The second working-level meeting with the Presidential Office to prepare for the summit is scheduled to be held tomorrow," adding, "The time and location will be kept confidential."

According to the official, all participants who attended the first meeting held the previous day will join the second meeting. Hong Cheol-ho, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, Cha Soon-oh, Political Secretary, Cheon Jun-ho, Chief Secretary to the Leader, and Kwon Hyuk-ki, Political Planning Director of the Leader's Office, are expected to discuss the date of the summit and other matters.

During the first meeting, both sides discussed for about 40 minutes and stated that they "agreed to broadly discuss policies to resolve livelihood issues and important national affairs." The Democratic Party emphasized the need for urgent measures to restore livelihoods and a shift in the national administration's policy direction during the first meeting, and reportedly requested to include the 'Special Prosecutor Act on Allegations of External Pressure in the Death of a Fallen Marine' as an agenda item for the summit. This Special Prosecutor Act is a bill that the Democratic Party has consistently urged the government and ruling party to participate in.

President Yoon initially proposed to hold the summit within this week to Leader Lee, but if agreement on the agenda is not smoothly reached, there is a possibility that it will be postponed to next week.
