Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation announced on the 24th that it held a VC IR Day (corporate presentation) on the 23rd at the Samsung Securities Busan Corporate Finance Branch, together with Samsung Securities, Korea Venture Investment Corp., and Ulsan·Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, to provide opportunities for regional startups to develop and grow.
This VC IR Day (corporate presentation) was the second event held following last year. By collaborating with regional Centers for Creative Economy and Innovation, it aims to facilitate follow-up investments for local startups. Among the companies that participated in last year’s VC IR Day, the edutech company Santa successfully secured follow-up investments from Accenture Ventures, Gyeongnam Venture Investment, Samsung Securities, and others.
Venture capitalists, institutional investors, corporations, and Samsung Securities clients interested in startup investments participated in this IR event. This year, startups that had received seed money or Series A round or higher investments participated, matching the investment stages of startups.
The event featured 13 startups including △Poscore (manufacturing magnetic powder using steel by-products and high-efficiency motor cores utilizing them) △ANJ Science (holding a total synthesis platform technology, developing treatments for intractable infectious diseases) △AndySoft (developing Language Free Zone, a multi-party real-time interpretation platform) △Oceans Bio (bioelectronic medicine device for vagus nerve electrical stimulation for intractable/mental illness treatment) △Team Solution (industrial digital twin solution based on large-scale 3D CAD lightweight technology) △Nutri Industry (eco-friendly recycling of food waste using insects) △PRGS&Tec (developing treatments for rare genetic diseases using PPI technology) △Stemden (developing dental pulp-dentin regeneration treatments) △Korea Precision Materials Industry (manufacturing ultra-lightweight composites used in defense and mobility) △People & Story (web novel and webtoon production and IP-based content distribution) △Intin (providing infertility solutions, one of the low birthrate issues) △Netspa (recycling marine waste to reproduce nylon and raw materials) △Inchems (manufacturing air-stable sulfide-based solid electrolytes for next-generation all-solid-state batteries and liquid electrolytes for high-energy-density lithium secondary batteries).
After the startups’ IR Day, networking sessions were held for investors and startups, along with separate investment consultations for startup-investor matching.
Kim Yong-woo, Director of Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, stated, “We plan to continuously expand the foundation for regional startups in Busan to secure follow-up investments,” adding, “Through the growth of startups, we will create a foundation to secure new economic growth engines for Busan.”
