Daedong Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Hampyeong-gun with a total storage capacity of 7.53 million tons, supplying agricultural water to 964 hectares of farmland in the Daedong-myeon and Eomdam-myeon areas. As of the 24th, the reservoir's water storage rate is 90.3%.

The average water storage rate in the Jeonnam region is also 87.7%, which is 121.1% of the normal level. The Jeonnam Headquarters expects to be able to supply water stably until the completion of rice planting.

Starting with this water release ceremony, during the full-scale rice planting water supply period, the plan is to control agricultural water more efficiently and supply it stably through ICT-based water volume measurement and remote operation of hydraulic facilities.

Standing Auditor Lee Kwang-rae said, "Please focus on supplying clean and sufficient agricultural water so that the sweat and dedication of our farmers, who are responsible for the healthy food of the entire nation, can bear abundant fruit." He added, "Let us do our best to enable farmers to farm without worrying about water by responding to rapidly changing climates such as severe droughts and extreme heavy rains."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Regional Headquarters plans to start water release for the four major lakes beginning with Jangseongho on the 13th of next month, followed by Damyangho and Gwangjuho on the 14th, and Najuho on the 16th.
