In the past five years, careless behavior (47%) and electrical causes (26.7%) have accounted for about 74% of major fire causes in spring, making preventive measures against fire risk factors more important than anything else.
Accordingly, Jeju Fire Department identified fire risk factors specific to each target site through on-site inspections that day, focusing on the proper maintenance of fire facilities and the management status of evacuation facilities. They also conducted fire prevention safety education for related personnel and listened to their opinions, discussing response measures in case of fire.
Go Min-ja, Chief of Jeju Fire Headquarters, said, “As the dry weather in spring increases the risk of fire, we will do our best to strengthen the autonomous safety management system through continuous safety consulting for facility personnel to prevent large-scale accidents such as fires.”
Meanwhile, the Fire Safety Headquarters has been establishing spring fire safety measures since last month and is thoroughly managing fire safety through on-site safety consulting by fire commanders and fire prevention education for related personnel at fire-vulnerable facilities across the province.
