The First Easy-to-Understand Job Announcement by a Public Institution
Recognized for Efforts to Promote Employment of Persons with Disabilities
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) received the Prime Minister's Commendation for its efforts in employing people with disabilities.
On the 24th, BPA announced that it was awarded the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 2024 Disability Employment Promotion Conference hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled.
At this event, the Ministry of Employment and Labor presented government awards to employers who contributed to promoting employment of people with disabilities through job creation, improving employment environments, and raising awareness; exemplary disabled workers who overcame disabilities and performed their duties well; and individuals who contributed to support for disabled workers, awareness improvement, and research.
BPA was recognized for its contribution to promoting employment of people with disabilities by being the first public institution to provide easy-to-understand job announcements in October 2023 to enhance the rights of people with developmental disabilities, as well as by discovering suitable jobs for severely disabled persons and conducting restricted competitive recruitment.
In 2022, BPA was the only public institution selected as an excellent employer for disabled employment.
Jin Gyu-ho, Head of BPA's Management Headquarters, said, “We will continue to explore various ways to expand employment of people with disabilities and actively strive to spread BPA’s achievements throughout the entire public sector.”
