40 Young Men and Women from Group A Participate
Expectations for Positive Perceptions of Marriage
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that a total of 9 couples were successfully matched at the "Solo Ending" meeting event for unmarried men and women held at Gwangyang Youth Dream Center and one other location.
This event was promoted to provide natural meeting opportunities for unmarried men and women who have not had chances to meet the opposite sex due to busy daily lives, and to foster a marriage-friendly social atmosphere.
Unlike last year, the city segmented the age groups into Group A (ages 25-35) and Group B (ages 36-45) to recruit participants so that young men and women of similar ages could meet.
As a result, Group A recruited 20 pairs (40 people), but 82 men and 57 women, totaling 139 unmarried office workers, expressed their desire to participate, showing explosive interest.
On the other hand, Group B recruited 34 men and 9 women, and is currently recruiting additional female participants until May 3rd. The meeting event is scheduled to be held on May 18th.
On the day of the event, 20 men and 20 women from Group A, selected through a public lottery, participated. The event was hosted by a professional MC and featured various programs such as special lectures, rotation conversations, couple goods making, random dates, and matching card exchanges. The event was met with great enthusiasm, with laughter filling the air, resulting in the formation of 9 couples.
The city plans to continue promoting meeting events for unmarried men and women, reflecting the high level of satisfaction among attendees.
