Comprehensive Solution for Maritime, Underwater, and Aerial Integrated Systems
‘Haegum’ Series and Three Autonomous Unmanned High-Speed Boats
Complete Range of Guided Weapons Mounted on Various Platforms
LIG Nex1 (CEO Shin Ik-hyun) will participate in the 2024 Yi Sun-sin Defense Industry Exhibition (YIDEX), held for four days from the 24th to the 27th at the Jinhae Naval Academy, showcasing a comprehensive range of core combat systems and solutions.
At this exhibition, LIG Nex1 will present the unmanned surface vessel and Haegung, 130mm guided rocket-II, Bigung, and other manned-unmanned integrated system solutions, which are key forces of the Navy’s maritime manned-unmanned complex combat system, ‘Navy Sea GHOST.’
The Haegum-II, Haegum-V, and high-speed boat equipped with an autonomous unmanned KIT will be displayed in actual form, expected to attract significant attention from visitors.
Haegum-II and Haegum-V are a series of unmanned surface vessels embodying LIG Nex1’s proprietary technology. In 2015, the company succeeded in developing the coastal surveillance reconnaissance unmanned surface vessel ‘Haegum (Sea Sword)’ as the lead organization in a civilian-military technology application research project promoted by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration and the Civil-Military Cooperation Promotion Agency.
The autonomous unmanned KIT applied to the high-speed boat, unveiled for the first time at this exhibition, enables the conversion of manned vessels and civilian ships into unmanned surface vessels at low cost, allowing for 24-hour coastal surveillance reconnaissance, maritime accident response, attack missions, and various other operations.
Shin Ik-hyun, CEO of LIG Nex1, stated, “We are participating in research and development to lead the manned-unmanned complex system field based on the technological capabilities accumulated through advanced weapon system development projects and strategic cooperation with the military, industry, academia, and research institutes.”
CEO Shin added, “We will devote our efforts to ensure that the comprehensive solutions showcased at this exhibition contribute to the successful development of Navy Sea GHOST, which the Republic of Korea Navy is promoting.”
