11 Recruitment Units Select 155 Candidates, 1,747 Applicants
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) announced on the 24th that for the 2024 local government employee recruitment exam, 1,747 applicants applied for 155 positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 11.3 to 1.
This year’s number of recruits increased by 27 (21.1%) from 128 last year, but the number of applicants decreased by 78 (4.3%) from 1,825 last year. The competition rate also slightly decreased compared to last year’s 14.3 to 1.
The competition rates by recruitment category were as follows: ▲ Education Administration Grade 9 (General) 12.5 to 1 ▲ Computer Science Grade 9 18 to 1 ▲ Librarian Grade 9 (General) 28 to 1 ▲ Engineering Grade 9 (General Electrical) 8 to 1 ▲ Health Grade 9 21.5 to 1 ▲ Nursing Grade 8 25 to 1 ▲ Records Researcher 7.5 to 1.
For the career competitive recruitment exam, Facility Management Grade 9 had 117 applicants for 20 positions, showing a competition rate of 5.9 to 1.
The competition rate for low-income applicants, aimed at expanding and guaranteeing public office opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, was 13.7 to 1 for Education Administration Grade 9. For disabled applicants, the competition rates were 2.9 to 1 for Education Administration Grade 9 and 2 to 1 for Librarian Grade 9 (Disabled).
The gender distribution of applicants was 30.3% male (530) and 69.7% female (1,217). By age group, 48.8% (852) were under their 20s, 35.4% (619) in their 30s, 13.1% (229) in their 40s, and 2.7% (47) aged 50 and above.
The Office of Education will announce the written exam locations on May 31 and conduct the written exams at middle and high schools on June 22.
