Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will hold the "2024 Children's Day Celebration Festival: Let's Play, Run, and Laugh" on the 5th of next month from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Seodaemun Independence Park and Seodaemun Prison History Hall.
The event is hosted by Seodaemun-gu and co-organized by seven public youth facilities (Hongeun Youth Culture House, Seodaemun Career Experience Support Center, Gajaeul Youth Center, Seodaemun Youth Counseling Welfare Center, Seodaemun Out-of-School Youth Support Center, Youth Activity Space Hongeunnuri, and Hongje-dong Youth Activity Space Kkumdarag).
The district stated that the festival is designed so that children and adolescents can be the main characters, celebrated while having fun playing, running, and laughing. The venue is divided into ▲HappyZONE (permanent stage, photo zone, food trucks) ▲FunZONE (cultural experience, career experience) ▲ExcitingZONE (events, environmental art exhibition) ▲InterestingZONE (4th industrial experience, healing experience, mini sports day) ▲EnergeticZONE (sports activities).
At the permanent stage, the celebration will begin with a congratulatory performance by the "Seodaemun-gu Junior Wind Orchestra," followed by magic shows, K-POP dance, cheerleading, acapella performances, and an award ceremony honoring contributors to Children's Day. Audience events will also be held to add excitement.
Fifty experience booths themed around art, environment, the 4th industry, dreams, and healing, along with a mini sports day and laser gun experience on the spacious lawn, will provide enjoyment. Visitors on the day can also appreciate the "Environmental Art Exhibition" created by children and adolescents and use six food trucks offering various foods.
Additionally, by participating in social media (SNS) followings, photo certifications with hashtags, and stamp missions, visitors can enjoy free cotton candy, popcorn, and four-cut photo shoots. There is no parking available at the festival site, so visitors must use public transportation. If it rains on Children's Day, the festival will be held on a smaller scale at the same location.
