Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 24th that it will hold the ‘Shinjaehyo Pansori Grand Festival’ performance at 2 p.m. on the 27th at the lawn yard of Shinjaehyo Pansori Park.
Hosted by the county and organized by the Dongri Cultural Project Association, the ‘Shinjaehyo Pansori Grand Festival’ was prepared to present high-quality traditional Korean music performances to the residents at Shinjaehyo Pansori Park, which was created to remember and continue the legacy of Dongri Shinjaehyo.
Hosted by broadcasters Kim Seonghwan and Kim Jiseon, the event features master singers Park Yangdeok and Song Jaeyoung performing Pansori Simcheongga and Namdo folk songs, as well as one-act plays by the Dongri Changgeuk Troupe, the traditional Korean a cappella group Toris, the traditional Korean choir K-Pan, the Dongri Children’s Art Troupe Mokdamae, and Art Company Gopung, showcasing a variety of performances by young traditional Korean music groups.
The Dongri Cultural Project Association is dedicated to the development of Gochang Pansori through various projects such as the Dongri Grand Prize, the National Children’s Pansori King of Kings Competition, the Korea Pansori Festival, the Master Singer Invitation Pansori Academy, and planned performances by the Dongri Changgeuk Troupe.
