Seongnam Hadaewon-dong Temporary Public Parking Lot Opens on 24th... 151 Jipyeongsik Spaces

The temporary public parking lot in Hadaewon-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, opened on the 24th.

Seongnam City announced that the temporary public parking lot in Hadaewon-dong, Jungwon-gu, located at 18 Hadaewon-dong, has been opened to the general public starting from this day.

The newly established public parking lot is a flat parking lot with 151 spaces, which will be operated free of charge on a trial basis until May 31, and will switch to paid parking starting June 1.

Seongnam City began construction of the flat parking lot last December to alleviate parking inconveniences for local residents and to provide convenient parking for customers using the nearby Moran Market.

Originally, Seongnam City planned to build a dedicated parking structure to resolve parking difficulties, but due to the excessive construction cost of 26 billion KRW and an expected construction period of at least two years, the parking lot construction method was changed.

Accordingly, by investing 460 million KRW to build a flat parking lot, the city saved 25 billion KRW compared to the cost of constructing a public parking building and was able to secure the parking lot quickly.

The temporary public parking lot in Hadaewon-dong is operated under consignment by Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, and the implementation and rate of monthly subscriptions will be decided later.

A Seongnam City official stated, "We will continue to devise ways to reduce costs while enhancing project effectiveness and do our best to alleviate parking inconveniences for citizens."
