A man in his 50s who stabbed his son with a weapon suddenly lost consciousness and died after being hit with a Taser during his arrest by the police.
According to the Gwangju Bukbu Police Station on the 23rd, a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, wielded a weapon against his son in his 30s at their home in an apartment complex in Yangsan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 5:50 PM that day.
The police, who responded to the report, subdued Mr. A by firing a Taser during the arrest process and took him into custody on charges of attempted murder.
Shortly after being taken to the police station, around 6:37 PM, Mr. A suddenly complained of difficulty breathing and collapsed. He was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest by the 119 emergency medical team and later died.
The son, who was stabbed by Mr. A, is reported to be in critical condition.
The police are investigating the exact cause of Mr. A's death and the circumstances of the incident.
