Professors from Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital, as well as professors affiliated with Ulsan University College of Medicine including Seoul Asan Hospital, will each begin taking one day off per week starting on the 30th of this month and the 3rd of next month, respectively.

The Emergency Response Committee of the Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital Professors' Association held a general meeting on the afternoon of the 23rd and announced, "Starting from the 30th of this month, we will implement a weekly shutdown (day off from work)."

Professors affiliated with Ulsan University College of Medicine, including Seoul Asan Hospital, will resign starting from the 25th. The Emergency Response Committee of the Ulsan University College of Medicine Professors' Association held an on- and offline general meeting at the Ulsan University College of Medicine auditorium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the same day and reached this agreement. The committee stated, "We have confirmed that resignation letters have been received and that resignations will proceed as scheduled on April 25," adding, "Resignations will be carried out in accordance with scheduled appointments and surgical situations."

Professors who find it difficult to resign immediately will take one day off per week starting from the 3rd of next month. The committee explained, "Due to the mental and physical limits of professors during this prolonged emergency medical situation, we have no choice but to readjust medical treatments and surgeries," and added, "Weekly days off are planned starting May 3."

There are a total of 767 professors working at the three training hospitals affiliated with Ulsan University College of Medicine: 528 at Seoul Asan Hospital, 151 at Ulsan University Hospital, and 88 at Gangneung Asan Hospital.
