Encouraging Small Daily Actions for Climate Crisis Response and Environmental Protection
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 23rd that it held the environmental campaign "The Gwangjin We Painted" at Gwangjin Supnaru.
Held to commemorate Earth Day, this event was hosted by Junggok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and attended by about 100 people including employees of Walkerhill Hotel, Gwangjin-gu Office, and local residents. Plogging (picking up trash while jogging) gained popularity as it allows participants to take care of both their health and the environment simultaneously.
At the event venue, various experience booths were set up, including ▲Environmental Quiz Zone ▲Making Seed Trees ▲Guidance on Waste Separation ▲Vegan Snack Lottery, among others. Additionally, the plogging along the trail from Gwangjin Supnaru to Walkerhill was a meaningful time to share the value of environmental protection and experience its importance firsthand.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I would like to thank the Junggok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center and Walkerhill Hotel officials who prepared the event," and added, "Environmental protection requires the interest and participation of the residents above all else. I hope everyone practices small efforts in daily life, such as reducing the use of disposable products and saving electricity."
