Sharing European Traffic Information... Hyundai Motor and Kia Join Hands with the Netherlands Government

Emergency Vehicle Information, Real-Time Accident Status, and Other Information Provision

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will provide local customers' vehicles with traffic information managed by the Dutch government, such as emergency vehicle approach information and real-time accident status.


On the 23rd, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced that they signed a "Business Agreement for Sharing Smart Traffic Safety Information" with the Dutch government at the Namyang Technology Research Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.


Through this, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and the Dutch government plan to develop various services to make road traffic safer and manage traffic information more efficiently.


First, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will provide traffic safety information managed by the Dutch Ministry of Transport to customers' vehicles. Local customers will be able to check ▲ emergency vehicle approach information to secure a rapid passage for emergency vehicles ▲ real-time accident status and other safety traffic information ▲ accurate traffic regulations guidance through the vehicle infotainment screen. Customers subscribed to connected car services are expected to be able to use these services from the fourth quarter of this year via over-the-air (OTA) wireless software updates.


Additionally, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and the Dutch government plan to discover various strategic tasks. Song Chang-hyun, President of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia AVP Division, stated, "Through this business agreement, we will advance Hyundai Motor Company and Kia's connected services in Europe and expand various convenience features and services that will enrich customers' vehicle mobility experiences in the future."
