On the 23rd, her agency Cube Entertainment announced that Yuqi will officially debut as a solo artist by releasing her first mini album 'YUQ1' at 6 PM. It has been over six years since her debut with (G)I-DLE.

The new album 'YUQ1' is, as the title suggests, an album that captures 'Yuqi' herself. In particular, the alphabet 'I' in Yuqi's name is visually expressed as the number '1', showing strong confidence in her first album. Despite being a solo debut album, it recorded 500,000 pre-orders, demonstrating her hot popularity as a solo artist.

Accordingly, Yuqi participated in the lyrics and composition of 5 out of the 7 tracks, including the title track 'FREAK', as well as 'My Way', 'Drink It Up (Feat. pH-1)', 'On Clap (Feat. Lexie Liu)', and 'Everytime (With MINNIE ((G)I-DLE))', enhancing the sincerity and completeness of her first solo album.

Having been recognized for her complete producing skills by participating in the lyrics and composition of (G)I-DLE songs such as 'i'M THE TREND' and 'All Night', listeners' expectations are also high.

Yuqi's rich vocal power, wide vocal range, and genre versatility can also be confirmed through this album. She is expected to showcase her presence as a solo artist and vocalist by demonstrating seven different vocal colors across the tracks.

In particular, with the title track 'FREAK', she delivers powerful vocals to attractive Bossa rhythms and band sounds, conveying a confident message as a 'FREAK' who acknowledges her differences from others and proudly embraces them as her own unique personality.

Renowned domestic and international musicians participated as featuring artists to enhance the album's completeness. Rapper pH-1 took part in writing, composing, and featuring on the track 'Drink It Up (Feat. pH-1)', singer Lexie Liu handled lyrics and featuring on 'On Clap (Feat. Lexie Liu)', and Minnie also contributed as a featuring artist on 'Everytime (With MINNIE ((G)I-DLE))'.

Yuqi's first solo album ‘YUQ1’ will be released on various online music platforms at 6 PM on the 23rd. The offline album will be available starting from the 24th.
