'Formation and Operation of Special Task Force for Rent Collection'
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 23rd that it will implement the "2024 Comprehensive Tax Revenue Collection Plan" to increase the district's tax revenue and improve financial independence.
Despite the challenging tax revenue environment due to a decrease in local tax income, the district plans to focus on achieving this year's local tax revenue target of 401.7 billion KRW by improving collection rates for each tax category and discovering new tax sources.
The district has formed a "Special Tax Collection Task Force" led by the Deputy Mayor, strengthening field-centered collection activities through interdepartmental collaboration and role sharing. Additionally, monthly collection performance will be analyzed, and overlooked tax sources will be identified to increase collection rates within deadlines and ensure payment of overdue taxes.
With these efforts to expand tax revenue, the district aims to exceed the target amount by the end of the year. Mayor Lee Seong-heon urged related departments to "do their best to steadily achieve the tax revenue goals."
