Jeju Western Fire Station Successfully Concludes 'Volunteer Fire Brigade Firefighting Skills Competition'

Jeju Western Fire Station (Chief Ko Jeong-bae) announced on the 23rd that it recently held the '2024 Volunteer Fire Brigade Firefighting Skills Competition' at the Gonae-ri Leisure Sports Park in Aewol-eup, with about 300 participants including firefighters and volunteer fire brigade members.

As a result of this competition, the Hankyeong Male Volunteer Fire Brigade took first place in the four-person fire suppression team event, the Aewol Male Volunteer Fire Brigade and Hagwi Female Volunteer Fire Brigade won first place in the fire hose deployment and retrieval event, the Daejeong Male Volunteer Fire Brigade in rescue skills, the Gosan Male Volunteer Fire Brigade in trauma patient assessment, and the Andeok Female Volunteer Fire Brigade in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

They will represent the Western Fire Station Volunteer Fire Brigade at the provincial volunteer fire brigade firefighting skills competition to be held next month.

On the same day, they also shared updates on the provincial administrative system reorganization and the 2025 APEC Jeju hosting campaign, fostering a time of unity among the firefighting family.

Chief Ko Jeong-bae said, "I thank all the volunteer fire brigade members who have worked hard preparing for the competition despite their busy livelihoods," and added, "I hope this competition serves as an opportunity to further improve the firefighting skills of the members and to enhance friendship through harmony and unity among them."
