Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun delivered a "Youth Protection Act Amendment Proposal" containing amendments to prevent the recurrence of the "Adult Festival in front of schools" to the elected members of the National Assembly from the Suwon area.
On the 23rd, Mayor Lee met with lawmakers Baek Hye-ryun (Suwon-si Eul), Kim Young-jin (Suwon-si Byeong), Kim Seung-won (Suwon-si Gap), and elected members Kim Jun-hyeok (Suwon-si Jeong) and Yeom Tae-young (Suwon-si Mu) at the Ramada Plaza Suwon Hotel to deliver the proposal.
The main content of the amendment proposal adds to the definition of harmful environments for youth, including "all objects, acts, places, and spaces that hinder the healthy growth of youth as sound individuals," and incorporates the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's inquiry response stating that one-time exhibitions or performances can also be considered harmful establishments when determining whether a place is harmful to youth into the Youth Protection Act.

Additionally, the proposal adds grounds for local governments to enact ordinances in the higher law, promoting the implementation of Suwon City's own ordinance, and includes grounds for local government measures against harmful environments for youth in the higher law.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun stated, "If the Youth Protection Act specifically defines harmful environments and establishments for youth, even if similar incidents such as the recently controversial 'Adult Festival venue rental' occur, they can be regulated by law," and urged, "Please join forces to ensure the Youth Protection Act is amended."
Meanwhile, Suwon City is also closely cooperating with the Suwon City Council to promote the enactment of the "Ordinance on Creating a Sound Social Environment for Youth in Suwon City" to respond to acts that create harmful environments for youth, such as adult festivals.
Earlier, the "National Assembly Citizen Consent Petition" opposing the adult festival, which began on March 21, surpassed 50,000 signatures on April 13 and was referred to the National Assembly's Administrative and Security Committee, the relevant committee, and the Education Committee.
