Hollys Enters Japanese Market... First Store to Open in Osaka on the 1st of Next Month

From Traditional Korean Dessert Menus to Popular Japanese Dishes

Hollys will begin operating its first store in Japan on the 1st of next month.

Hollys selected Japan as its first global expansion destination, considering that Japan is the largest coffee-consuming country in Asia and has a high familiarity with Korean culture. Located in the Namba Marui Department Store in Osaka, Hollys' first store in Japan is described by the company as an optimal location adjacent to a large flow of people and famous tourist spots, allowing it to welcome a diverse range of consumers from Japanese locals to foreign tourists.

Hollys Namba Marui branch is situated on the first floor of the Namba Marui Department Store, connected to the transportation hub Namba Station, and is expected to attract not only department store customers but also the flow of people passing through Namba Station. The store applies the interior design of Korean Hollys stores, featuring a variety of seating arrangements such as sofa seats and table seats, and uses the signature red color. A photo zone utilizing Hollys' bear character ‘Hollybear’ is also set up, allowing customers to take commemorative photos.

Hollys' signature menu items, ‘Vanilla Delight’ and ‘Strawberry Cheesecake Hallichino,’ as well as ‘Sweet Potato Latte,’ which is popular among Japanese tourists, will be sold. Additionally, special Japanese menu items capturing Korean flavors such as ‘Yakgwa Cream Latte,’ ‘Lucky Mugwort Latte,’ ‘Hallabong Yuzu Smoothie,’ and ‘Hallabong Tangerine Juice’ will be introduced. Furthermore, a variety of tumblers and mugs, as well as Japan-exclusive MD products featuring Hollys and the Korean spelling of Osaka, will be available for purchase.

Bakery items will be supplied through collaboration with local Japanese companies. Hollys selected the bakery ‘Gouter d’ Anatole (Guutedanatoru),’ which boasts over 30 years of experience in Osaka, based on a multifaceted evaluation including taste, experience, facilities, and reputation.

Jonghyun Lee, CEO of Hollys, said, “We are excited and thrilled to present Hollys’ first store in Japan, the Osaka Namba Marui branch, this coming May,” and added, “We ask for much interest in this Osaka Namba Marui branch, which is a familiar Hollys store from Korea but also offers unique features that can only be enjoyed in Japan.”
