Samsung Electronics announced on the 23rd that it has been selected as the supplier for the Korea Communications Commission's 'TV Distribution Project for the Visually and Hearing Impaired' for the fifth consecutive year.

The KCC is implementing a project to distribute TVs with specialized functions for the visually and hearing impaired. The Viewer Media Foundation under the KCC selects recipients based on priority. Samsung Electronics will supply the TVs sequentially from the end of next month until the end of this year.
Samsung Electronics plans to supply 32,000 units of 40-inch Full HD smart TVs. This year’s supply model newly introduced a black-and-white broadcast screen function and color filter functions for green, red, and blue color blindness. Through this, many users, including those with color vision deficiencies, can enjoy content.
Additionally, by pressing and holding only the volume button, users can access the 'Accessibility Shortcut Menu Editing Function.' The accessibility menu can be turned on and off at once.
Other features include ▲voice guidance for operation menus ▲channel information banner with disability broadcast type guidance ▲subtitle position adjustment ▲sign language screen zoom function.

Applications for the TV distribution for the visually and hearing impaired can be made by visiting the local community center in the applicant’s jurisdiction or by applying online through the dedicated website for the visually and hearing impaired TV distribution using mobile phone authentication in the applicant’s name.
