Hwaseong-si Promotes Strengthening Networks Among Lifelong Learning Institutions

Jointly Planned Program by Institutions... Enrollment Open on a First-Come, First-Served Basis

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it will promote a project to strengthen the network among lifelong education institutions in the city to improve the quality of lifelong learning projects.

This project aims to form networks in four regions to expand exchanges among lifelong education institution officials and establish a linkage system between institutions. It involves jointly planning and operating regular meetings and specialized programs tailored to regional characteristics.

The city resumed the project last year, which had been suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19, and rebuilt the regional lifelong education institution network councils. In January of this year, a workshop was held for lifelong education institution officials to provide guidance on the 2024 lifelong learning support projects.

Since then, each institution discussed and prepared lifelong education programs to be jointly operated by region. From May to September, jointly planned programs will be operated, followed by activities such as benchmarking excellent lifelong learning cities and sharing network achievements.

Starting from the 22nd, the city will recruit students for the jointly planned programs operated by the participating network institutions on a first-come, first-served basis by institution. Song Mun-ho, Director of the Culture and Education Bureau of Hwaseong City, said, "Through the establishment of this network, we will expand the foundation of the lifelong learning city and promote the expansion of lifelong learning opportunities for citizens and qualitative improvement of programs through regionally specialized programs jointly planned."
