The Only Private University in Chungnam Participating in Consortium... 28.95 Billion KRW Invested Over 6 Years
Trained a Total of 274 Master's and Doctoral Graduates
Soonchunhyang University has been selected for the 'Energy Technology Sharing University' project, led by the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation Institute under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and will embark on training specialized personnel in the energy sector.
This project supports the development and operation of joint educational programs in the energy field as well as the training of master's and doctoral personnel. It facilitates employment connections for specialized personnel to regional companies through a collaborative system among local governments, universities, companies, and innovation institutions.
The Chungcheong Consortium, led by the Chungbuk Energy Industry-Academia Convergence Center, includes five metropolitan and local governments: Chungcheongnam-do, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Chungcheongbuk-do, Cheongju City, and Chungju City; seven graduate schools in the Chungcheong region: Soonchunhyang University, Chungbuk National University, Cheongju University, Korea National University of Transportation, Kongju National University, Chungnam National University, and Hanbat National University; and two regional innovation institutions: Chungnam Technopark and Daejeon Technopark.
The consortium plans to invest a total of 28.95 billion KRW over six years from May until December 2029 to cultivate regionally specialized future energy talents for realizing the Chungcheong Mega City.
The main support areas include △ joint development and operation of curricula and courses for ESS, fuel cells, and power systems △ improvement of graduate school academic systems △ credit-linked employment-type field training △ employment and startup support △ execution of corporate technical challenge projects for new hires.
Jung Soon-gi, Director of Research, stated, “This project is expected to strengthen the educational expertise in the energy field among universities in the Chungcheong region and contribute to establishing a national-level core talent training system.”
