Hankyung Association Hosts 'Urgent Global Economic Diagnosis' Seminar with PIIE President from the US

The Korea Economic Association (HanKyungHyup) announced on the 22nd that it will hold an expert seminar titled "Turbulent Global Economy, Urgent Diagnosis" on the 30th at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul.

This seminar was organized to assess the impact of the global economy due to rising geopolitical risks such as the worsening situation in the Middle East, and to diagnose the external macroeconomic environment including oil prices, exchange rates, and interest rates, while exploring response measures for Korean companies.


Domestic and international trade experts will participate in the seminar to present and discuss. Adam Posen, President of the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), a think tank specializing in international economics in the U.S., will deliver the keynote speech on "The Rise of Geopolitical Risks and Global Economic Outlook," and An Seong-bae, Vice President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), will present on "Changes in the External Macroeconomic Environment and Risk Factors."


Additionally, Jeong Cheol, Chief Research Officer of HanKyungHyup and President of the Korea Economic Research Institute, will serve as the chair to diagnose global risk factors and lead the expert discussion. Panelists including Choi Byung-il, Secretary General of the Korea Higher Education Foundation, Lee Il-hyung, former President of KIEP, and Kang Tae-su, Professor at KAIST Graduate School of Finance, will participate in the discussion.
