Nakdonggang Regional Office Promotes Rapid Execution of Sewerage Project National Subsidies

Encouraging Early Execution of 278 Billion KRW in the First Half of This Year's 397.2 Billion KRW National Treasury Subsidy

The Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office announced that it will hold an execution inspection meeting on the 24th at 2 p.m. at the Nakdong River Office annex, with the participation of all local governments in the jurisdiction, to ensure the prompt execution of this year's national subsidy budget for sewerage.

The Nakdong River Office aims to execute 70% of the national subsidy budget of 397.2 billion KRW allocated this year, amounting to 278 billion KRW, within the first half of the year. To achieve this, it plans to hold an execution inspection meeting to encourage early execution by local governments.

At this execution inspection meeting, the Ministry of Environment's early execution policy and execution targets will be shared with metropolitan and basic local governments. The current status and issues of projects facing difficulties will be identified, and solutions will be sought together to accelerate the improvement of the execution rate.

Nakdonggang Regional Office Promotes Rapid Execution of Sewerage Project National Subsidies

On February 14, the Ministry of Environment announced plans to promote early execution of the sewerage budget by shortening pre-administrative procedures such as resource consultations and installation approvals, intensively managing projects with poor execution, and managing fiscal execution linked to next year's budget proposal.

Accordingly, the Nakdong River Office will cooperate to promptly carry out pre-consultation procedures for early construction orders and contract conclusions by local governments, and ensure efficient execution of the sewerage budget by prioritizing the allocation of national funds to projects that proceed smoothly through budget adjustments among projects.

The Nakdong River Office has formed a sewerage budget fiscal execution inspection team that conducts joint on-site inspections quarterly with city and provincial sewerage budget departments, targeting projects with poor budget execution such as excessive carryover projects and projects delayed in administrative procedures.

Chief Choi Jong-won stated, "We will strive to promptly execute more than 70% of this year's national subsidy budget for sewerage within the first half of the year to contribute to the recovery of the people's livelihood economy and economic revitalization."
