Lotte Wellfood Delays Price Increase of Pepero and Others to June at Government's Request

Lotte Wellfood has decided to delay the price increase of 17 products, including Ghana Chocolate and Pepero, by one month to June 1, compared to the original plan.


According to the industry on the 22nd, Lotte Wellfood will raise the prices of convenience store products starting June 1. Other channels are still under negotiation.

Lotte Wellfood announced on the 18th that it would raise the prices of related products by an average of 12% starting next month, as the price of cocoa (processed cacao beans), the main ingredient of chocolate, soared to an all-time high. However, the company accepted the government's request to delay the price increase to stabilize prices.


Lotte Wellfood explained that the items and the rate of price increase remain the same as originally planned. According to Lotte Wellfood's price increase plan, the suggested retail price of Ghana Chocolate (34g) will rise from 1,200 won to 1,400 won. Crunky (34g) will increase from 1,200 won to 1,400 won, ABC Choco (187g) from 6,000 won to 6,600 won, and Binch (102g) from 2,800 won to 3,000 won. Among frozen desserts, Gugu Cluster will increase by 500 won to 5,500 won, and Tico will rise by 1,000 won to 7,000 won.
