Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam recently held a meeting on measures to welcome guests at lodging and food hygiene establishments together with the Korea Accommodation Business Association and the hygiene management teams of the cultural and sanitation departments of five district offices, the city announced on the 22nd.
The meeting was organized to prepare measures for welcoming guests at lodging and food hygiene establishments in anticipation of the 105th National Sports Festival and the 44th National Paralympic Games, which will be held in October.
The National Sports Festival events hosted in Changwon Special City include 10 sports such as bowling, shooting, and swimming, held at 13 venues including Masan Samsung Bowling Alley, Changwon International Shooting Range, and Changwon Indoor Swimming Pool. The National Paralympic Games feature 6 sports such as badminton, cycling (track), and tennis, held at 7 venues including Changwon Football Center Indoor Gymnasium, Changwon Leisure Sports Park, and Changwon Municipal Tennis Courts.
The main agenda of the meeting included pledges to practice ▲clean hygiene establishments ▲friendly guest reception ▲reasonable pricing, along with guidance on the lodging business operators challenge event. The meeting proceeded with explanations on the current status, issues, and countermeasures during the events, followed by discussions among various departments and organizations.
Son Gil-kwang, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, said, “During the two major sports festivals, we hope that the teams and officials visiting our city will not experience any inconvenience in using lodging facilities, and that thorough management will be ensured.” He added, “In particular, please provide reasonable prices to prevent complaints and pay special attention to hygiene so that the teams can stay in a clean and comfortable environment.”
