The Korea Exchange announced on the 22nd that it has commenced trading of KOSDAQ Global Index Futures.

KOSDAQ Global Index Futures were promoted to support the activation of the 'KOSDAQ Global Segment,' launched in November 2022 to ensure the sustainable growth of the KOSDAQ market.

The Global Segment is a system benchmarked after the Nasdaq market's Global Select Segment, designed to separately manage high-quality companies within the KOSDAQ market.

The Exchange operated a simulated market from the 18th to the 19th of last month and revised the detailed enforcement rules of the business regulations on the 5th.

Additionally, on the 15th, the Exchange signed market-making contracts with 13 securities firms, including ▲KB Securities ▲NH Investment & Securities ▲SK Securities ▲Kyobo Securities ▲Mirae Asset Securities ▲Samsung Securities ▲Yuanta Securities ▲Eugene Investment & Securities ▲Ebest Investment & Securities ▲Kiwoom Securities ▲Hi Investment & Securities ▲Korea Investment & Securities ▲Hanwha Investment & Securities, supplying liquidity to activate trading.

An Exchange official stated, "Expansion of related exchange-traded products (ETPs) and other linked products requires an increase in institutional and foreign investment in the index constituent stocks," adding, "By providing risk management and investment tools for KOSDAQ blue-chip companies preferred by institutions and foreigners, we expect an increase in investment demand for KOSDAQ."
