Kakao Mobility announced on the 22nd that it will commercialize its robot delivery service by unveiling the robot delivery service 'BRING' and launching its own robot open application programming interface (API) platform 'BRING-ON'.
BRING is a product that combines delivery robots with Kakao Mobility's robot open API platform BRING-ON. It can perform various services with a single robot, including ▲food and beverage delivery ▲mail delivery within offices ▲concierge services within hotels. A key feature is that through platform control, it can be deployed and operated immediately in existing buildings such as offices, hotels, apartments, and hospitals that were not originally designed with robots in mind.
BRING-ON, based on open API, links various delivery orders and robots, offering versatility that allows services to be configured according to the customer's environment without being restricted by the type of delivery service or robot model.
BRING-ON incorporates Kakao Mobility's accumulated mobility technologies such as AI-optimized dispatch, demand forecasting, and routing. This enables complex delivery orders to be classified on the platform and optimally dispatched to each robot, minimizing manager intervention while maximizing delivery efficiency.
Additionally, Kakao Mobility has partnered with LG Electronics as it accelerates its robot delivery service. The two companies signed a 'Business Agreement for Future Mobility Service Innovation' in 2022 and have continued technical cooperation to discover indoor and outdoor autonomous robot delivery service models.
As LG Electronics' exclusive partner in the robot delivery field, Kakao Mobility has introduced LG Electronics' new delivery robot, the 'LG CLOi ServeBot', into the BRING platform. Through collaboration with LG Electronics, a leading company in the robot sector, Kakao Mobility has secured a foundation to reliably supply top-quality robot hardware and implement highly refined services.
Kakao Mobility will officially launch its robot delivery service starting on the 25th by introducing BRING at 'Nudit Seoul Forest' in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, in partnership with LG Electronics.
Jang Sung-wook, head of Kakao Mobility's Future Research Institute, said, "BRING, which integrates Kakao Mobility's platform technology, features scalability that allows it to connect with any service and any robot," adding, "We hope that robot technology will contribute to reducing unnecessary movement and enhancing the value of daily life in the present, not in some distant future."
