Kakao Makers and 'Hetbahn Container Saegabeochi Project'
Donation of Product Sales Proceeds to Children at Risk of Malnutrition
CJ CheilJedang announced on the 22nd that it will carry out the 'Hetbahn Container Saegabeorchi Project' in collaboration with Kakao Makers, which collects used Hetbahn containers and transforms them into valuable resources.
This collaboration was planned to raise awareness about instant rice containers on 'Earth Day (April 22)' and to encourage more consumers to participate in recycling Hetbahn containers. CJ CheilJedang will separate and clean the collected Hetbahn containers to make raw materials, and Kakao Makers plans to use these materials to produce various household items.
Consumers who wish to participate in the Hetbahn Container Saegabeorchi Project can apply through the Kakao Makers website until the 1st of next month. Selected participants, totaling 5,000, will be provided with collection boxes, and they must fill and return the boxes with more than 30 Hetbahn containers by July 1st.
The upcycled products will later be sold on Kakao Makers, and the proceeds will be used to support children at risk of food insecurity through the social contribution network 'Happiness Alliance.' CJ CheilJedang also plans to select 500 participants from the project to receive 'Environmentally Friendly Hetbahn.'
Jang Mina, head of the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Center at CJ CheilJedang, said, "We will seek collaboration with companies and local governments to enable Hetbahn containers to be recycled more diversely in daily life. We will continue to sincerely pursue efforts to reduce plastic and actively practice sustainable management."
