April 22 to June 22, Intensive Inspection of Aging and High-Risk Facilities Including Accident-Prone Sites
Joint Inspection by City, District, County, Public Corporations, and Experts with Heads' Participation
Operation of 'Resident Applicat
Busan City will conduct the "Great Safety Transformation of Korea, 2024 Intensive Safety Inspection" targeting 1,219 aging and high-risk facilities, including recently accident-prone sites, for 61 days from the 22nd to June 22nd.
The 1,219 facilities subject to intensive safety inspection (1,094 in districts and counties, 125 in business offices and public corporations) were selected from 10 sectors including children's playgrounds where recent accidents occurred, water play parks, large construction sites and logistics warehouses, large sales facilities and suspension bridges used by many people, as well as aging and high-risk facilities prone to safety accidents (such as steep slopes, construction sites, welfare facilities, etc.).
A "Resident Application System for Inspection Targets" is being implemented to inspect facilities that local residents consider necessary, allowing citizens to directly experience safety inspection activities during the intensive safety inspection period.
In this intensive safety inspection, related organizations such as the city, autonomous districts and counties, business offices, public corporations, experts, and related groups will jointly participate in the inspections. Heads of each organization will also visit sites directly to conduct thorough safety inspections.
By utilizing advanced technology equipment such as drones, Internet of Things (IoT) cameras, and thermal imaging cameras, inspections will cover facilities that are difficult to inspect with the naked eye or general equipment due to their characteristics, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of inspections and minimizing safety blind spots.
The city will disclose the inspection results on the Integrated Information Disclosure System and will also reveal the real names of inspectors to strengthen accountability for safety inspections. The use of the Safety Report Center will be actively encouraged to enhance resident participation and eliminate hazards around daily life.
During the inspection period, a city-wide voluntary safety inspection campaign will be conducted, and self-inspection checklists for homes and multi-use facilities will be produced and distributed to promote the spread of safety culture and the normalization of safety inspections.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, "Minor and simple hazards found during this inspection will be promptly repaired and reinforced, and serious hazards will be continuously managed until the risk factors are eliminated to ensure citizen safety. We ask all citizens to actively participate in voluntary safety inspections at home using the Safety Report Center app."
