Gyeonggi Province will conduct intensive safety inspections on 2,417 safety-vulnerable facilities across 31 cities and counties within the province for two months starting from the 22nd, targeting facilities where disasters or accidents are likely to occur.
The main inspection targets include ▲270 road facilities such as 215 bridges and 34 tunnels ▲289 child-use facilities such as 113 amusement facilities and 103 playground facilities ▲449 multi-use facilities ▲22 local festival and event sites.
In particular, the inspection will focus on 76 indoor play businesses such as kids cafes, which have recently been highlighted for their risk due to accidents, 197 underground multi-use facilities vulnerable to fire such as bathhouses, PC rooms, and karaoke rooms, and 85 water play management areas.
Gyeonggi Province will conduct inspections with experts from various fields including architecture, civil engineering, firefighting, and electrical engineering. If any risk factors are found, immediate measures will be taken on-site within the possible scope, and facilities requiring significant budget for repairs will receive emergency measures first, followed by repairs after securing the budget.
This year, Gyeonggi Province plans to include small-scale densely populated living facilities such as village halls, senior citizen centers, and welfare centers in the intensive safety inspection targets. Additionally, self-inspection checklists for households and multi-use facilities will be distributed so that residents can conduct voluntary inspections of their own homes or facilities.
Kim Neungsik, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Safety Management Office, stated, "The intensive safety inspections are aimed at systematically checking hazardous facilities around daily life to eliminate risk factors in advance. We will do our best to ensure the safety of residents through thorough inspections."
