Final 3 announced on May 7 at 10 AM on the district office website
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Hee-young) plans to select the ‘Yongsan-gu Daengfluencer’ through online voting from April 22 to May 3.
‘Daengfluencer’ is a newly coined term combining ‘Daengdaengi,’ meaning puppy, and ‘influencer,’ referring to someone with many subscribers on social networks (SNS) who influences the public.
As the final stage to become the district’s promotional dog ‘Daengfluencer,’ the three dogs selected will be announced on the district office website at 10 a.m. on May 7.
The online voting candidates include nine dogs who passed the first and second preliminary rounds. Voters can visit the voting site, watch a 15-second video for each candidate dog, and select one dog from each size category (small, medium, large), choosing a total of three dogs.
Anyone who verifies their mobile phone, regardless of residence, can vote, and 100 participants will be randomly selected to receive coffee coupons.
Last month, a total of 107 dogs registered in the area applied to be the first Daengfluencer candidates. After the first video screening and second on-site evaluation, nine dogs were finally selected.
To ensure fairness and professionalism in judging, the panel was composed of animal experts including professors from animal-related departments, veterinarians, and dog behavior specialists.
The dogs finally selected as ‘Yongsan-gu Daengfluencer’ will participate in promotional activities such as ▲district promotional materials (newsletters, etc.), ▲Yongsan-gu Office YouTube channel vlogs, and ▲KakaoTalk emoticon production, with an activity period of one year.
Additionally, basic supplies needed for activities (promotional dog clothes, leashes, etc.) and actual expenses related to promotional material production will be supported.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “By participating in the selection process of Yongsan-gu’s promotional dog, we will take the lead in creating a happy community for both pet owners and non-pet owners,” and added, “We will continue to build a pet-friendly city, Yongsan, through more diverse projects.”
