Five Rockets Fired from Iraq at US Military Base in Syria

At least five rockets were fired from Zummar, Iraq, toward a U.S. military base in northeastern Syria.

On the 21st (local time), major foreign media outlets reported this, citing multiple Iraqi security sources.

This attack occurred just one day after Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani met with U.S. President Joe Biden. It is the first attack by pro-Iranian forces in Iraq since they halted attacks on U.S. troops in February.

Earlier, an explosion and fire at a military base in central Iraq caused casualties. The United States and Israel denied any involvement.
