Including 300km Surface-to-Surface Missiles at the Intersection
The United States is expected to resume military supplies support to Ukraine as early as this weekend.
On the 21st (local time), Mark Warner, a Democratic member of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, told CBS that regarding the Ukraine aid budget passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, "If the president signs it by the 23rd or 24th, the military supplies will be in transit by the end of this week."
Earlier, the Republican-majority U.S. House passed a security budget bill supporting Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan for the first time in six months. The Democrats are expected to process the bill around the 23rd.
Regarding the inclusion of the ATACMS ground-to-ground missile with a range of 300 km in the budget, Warner said, "I believe the government has been preparing to provide ATACMS for the past few months," adding, "It is explicitly stated in the budget bill."
He emphasized the necessity of security support for Ukraine, saying, "In the past two years, with less than 3% of the defense budget, we have helped Ukraine eliminate 87% of Russia's existing ground forces, 63% of tanks, and 32% of armored vehicles," and added, "Not a single American soldier has lost their life in this process."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with U.S. NBC on the same day, "This support will strengthen the Ukrainian military," and "If Ukraine secures the weapon systems it truly needs, we have a chance to win." He particularly mentioned ATACMS, emphasizing, "Long-range missiles and air defense (missiles) are priorities to avoid losing soldiers on the front lines."
